Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes follow periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
